an evaluation of genetic diversity among some iranian edible asparagus (asparagus officinalis l.) genotypes using rapd markers
نویسندگان
چکیده
rapd markers were employed to assess the genetic diversity of 34 iranian wild edible asparagus (a. officinalis) genotypes as well as cv. mary washington and a. persicus. in total, 80 rapd primers were employed for pcr reactions, among which, 18 revealed reasonable polymorphism. the 18 primers produced 175 bands, of which, 160 were polymorphic (91.4% polymorphism). cluster analysis of the genotypes was performed based on their presence (1) or absence (0) of the bands, employing jaccard's similarity coefficient and the method of upgma. the highest and lowest observed genetic coefficients of similarity between genotypes were recorded as 0.71 and 0.29, respectively. at a distance of similarity of 0.68 on the dendrogram, the genotypes were divided into seven sub-clusters. wild genotypes were positioned in four subclusters followed by two subclusters that included the cultivated asparagus and the edible a. officinalis cv. mary washington. the species a. persicus, as a distinguished ones, located in a last subcluster with an acceptable distance from other genotypes. the examined genotypes were of relatively high diversity, indicating the richness of asparagus genetic resources in iran. furthermore, this study reflected the capability of rapd markers in differentiating asparagus species and to study their genetic diversity.

The common fig (Ficus carica L.), one of the most important fruit species, belongs to Moraceae family and is widely distributed in Iran. In this study, genetic variations among some genotypes of common fig collected from six different regions of Ilam province (Iran) were evaluated based on RAPD and ISSR markers. A total of 73 and 29 alleles were produced by 14 RAPD (with their sizes ranging fro...

متن کاملAssessment of Genetic Diversity and Relationship among Some Commercial Cucumber Varieties and Genotypes Using Rapd Markers
Genetic variability among the genotypes of any species could be utilized for its improvement. PCR-based Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique was used to determine the genetic diversity and relationship among 10 cucumber varieties and genotypes. Five decamer primers were used to amplify genomic DNA and the primers yielded a total of 54 bands of which 36 bands were polymorphic and 18...

Randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique was applied to assess the genetic variability among five selected genotypes of grasspea. Out of 30 random decamer primers tested for the present investigation 20 showed reproducible DNA amplification. A total of 257 loci were amplified of which 159 were polymorphic including 57 genotype-specific unique bands. Amplicons had molecular weights ra...

The importance of grain cultivation especially wheat is obvious in terms of providing human and animal food and its impact on the economy of human societies. The reduction of genetic diversity in cultivars prevents increasing yields in line with rising demand and consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the compatibility of them and increase their genetic extent. In the current, the g...
